  • Club Supports Shriners’ Hospital

On Friday, June 30th., the Baddeck Shrine Club was honored by a visit by the Illustrious Potentate, Mike Schmid.  The Baddeck Shriners, as well as Shriners from all over Cape Breton, hosted a dinner for this auspicious occasion at St. Mark’s Lodge Number 35 with a social fellowship time prior to the dinner.  Just before dinner Connie Ross MacDonald and her husband, Andrew presented a cheque in the amount of $ 3,500.00 to Potentate Schmid towards the continued operation of the Shrine Children’s Hospital in Montreal.  This kind of presentation has become a very welcome and gratifying habit by this group over the last number of years and ensures the continuation of free medical care such as operations, physiotherapy and special equipment for disabled children who otherwise not be able to acquire such medical assistance. For further information about the Shrine Children’s Hospital, please contact any Shrine member who will ensure information is provided.
